Vinyl Siding
Although vinyl siding is easy to care for, it still requires annual cleaning if you want your siding to look as good as possible.
Vinyl siding naturally becomes dirty from wind, rain, birds, and sometimes mold.
Trees and bushes produce airborne sugars that drift through the wind and stick to vinyl siding. This is a food source for mold and some algae.
Dust and dirt can also stick to the vertical sides of vinyl siding, and these are also food sources for some mildews and algae.
Cleaning annually will keep it looking bright and as clean as the day it was new.
Aluminum Siding
Exposure to sun, pollution, and the elements can turn aluminum siding chalky, faded, and porous, allowing dirt and mildew to penetrate the surface.
A good power washing can make your siding look like new if you tend to it annually.
It might be time to repaint your aluminum siding when you notice chalking, or oxidation, which is the result of weathering.
Chalking isn't preventable on aluminum siding, but it can be removed.
Stucco
Stucco should be cleaned annually, as its rough surface is a dirt magnet. This is especially true for light colors that show dirt more than darker colors. A lower pressure will be used.
Brick and Block
Brick also collects dirt, mold, and mildew and must be cleaned. Brick is especially prone to breaking down as a result of overexposure to the elements.
Regular cleaning can extend the life and enhance the look of both brick and concrete.
There are many types of brick; some brick can not withstand as much pressure as others can. We can adjust the pressure to meet these needs.
Cleaning gutter exteriors is included in our house washing service. Gutters will be brushed clean using a special cleaner and then rinsed with low pressure.
Gutter interiors should be cleaned out in the spring and again in fall, to keep them from getting clogged and causing drainage problems, and to prevent compost from building up and causing permanent staining to the exteriors.
Wood Deck/Fence Cleaning
The condition of your deck or fence can dramatically impact the overall appearance of your home. When properly maintained, they can provide a great addition to your home.
Regular cleaning prevents graying, soil deposits, sun damage, cracking, and repairs that plague untreated wood.
You do not have to get your deck replaced
just because the appearance of the wood has diminished!
Power washing may be all that is needed to restore wood decks to a like new appearance.
Deck cleaning is affordable, and after power washing decks thoroughly, sealers and stains will perform much better while making your deck look like new.
Please keep in mind that results can vary depending on the condition of the existing wood deck that is being cleaned. Decks require maintenance! No matter how good cleaners and sealers are applied, without proper deck maintenance the lumber is sure to fail prematurely.
Driveways/Sidewalks/Concrete
Having your driveway cleaned is another great way to increase curb appeal. Dirt buildup, mildew, mold and other elements dull the appearance of concrete.
Most people do not realize how dirty their driveways, sidewalks, and patios are, and are amazed with the difference once cleaned!
